Two Dead, Others Injured In Crash On New Falls Road

The incident occurred after two cars traveling eastbound on the road collided, causing one to hit a telephone pole.

LEVITTOWN, PA — A fatal crash on New Falls Road, which occurred just after noon on Christmas Eve, has left one person dead and others injured.

According to reports, a 2003 BMW and a 2015 Nissan Juke made contact with one another while traveling eastbound on the road. The BMW proceeded to hit the curb and hit a telephone pole; the Nissan Juke hit a street sign.

Two people involved in the accident died as a result of the crash. Tyler Amberger, 18, a senior at Pennsbury High School East, died at the scene while his friend, Matthew Loftus, 17, was then taken to St. Mary Medical Center and died on Monday morning. Police confirmed they were driving the 2003 BMW.

The road was closed for several hours as firefighters and police assessed the situation and aided survivors.

One of the vehicles was reportedly destroyed after the accident, with the roof pushed in from the collision.
