Pennsbury Mourns Death Of High School Student
The Pennsbury School District announced that a Pennsbury High School student passed away over the weekend.
FAIRLESS HILLS, PA —The Pennsbury School District has announced that one of its high school students has died.
Schools Superintendent Thomas A. Smith and Pennsbury High School Campus Principal Reggie Meadows informed the school community of the death of Pennsbury High School student Samuel O’Brien over the weekend.
The school district said that O'Brien passed away suddenly on Sunday. A cause of death was not provided by the school district.

"As we process this tragic loss as a school community, our condolences go out to the student’s family and friends," school officials said. "A tragedy such as this impacts many adolescents and members of our community, either directly or indirectly.
School counselors are available to provide support for any student who needs it.

"With the help of our faculty, they will attempt to identify any students who may be having ongoing difficulties," school officials said. "The loss of a student presents us with many questions that we may not be able to answer right away. If you feel that your child is having difficulty coping with this event, please let us know as soon as possible."
School officials said that any traumatic event can trigger an emotional reaction, even to an unrelated event (family illness, prior losses, etc.).
