Pennsbury School District Awarded Meritorious Budget Award

The Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) recognized Pennsbury for their 'excellence in budget presentation'.

FALLSINGTON, PA — The Pennsbury School District has been awarded the Meritorious Budget Award by the Association of School Business Officials International for their 'excellence in budget presentation.

The award recognizes the best budget presentation practices in school districts around the country. Last year, 11 school districts in Pennsylvania and one school district in New Jersey received this distinction, according to Jennifer Neill, Pennsbury's Supervisor of Public Relations.

Participants who apply for the Meritorious Budget Award (MBA) or the Pathway program to bring them to compliance for eligibility for the award, have their practices reviewed with the MBA Criteria Checklist to make sure they can potentially win the distinction. It also gives districts a chance for feedback to improve their budgeting practices for later use.

“Districts that apply to the MBA or Pathway to the MBA programs recognize the importance of presenting a high-quality, easy-to-understand budget internally and to the community,” said ASBO International Executive Director David J. Lewis .

“By participating in the programs, not only do districts have access to the tools and resources they need to communicate the district’s goals and objectives clearly, they demonstrate their commitment to upholding nationally recognized budget presentation standards.”
