Route 1 Improvements Project Prepares For Phase III
PennDOT will hold a public hearing on Wednesday night on the project for the key Lower Bucks County highway.

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA — A public hearing on the Route 1 Improvements Project will take place on Wednesday night to discuss details of Phase III.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation — and the Federal Highway Administration — will hold the hearing at the Sheraton Bucks County Hotel at 400 Oxford Valley Rd. in Langhorne from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The hearing is for the upcoming U.S. 1 Section RC3 Project, to improve safety and congestion along a 2.7-mile section of U.S. 1 in Middletown Township, Langhorne Manor, and Langhorne.

The hearing will be conducted as part of the 45-day comment period on the Environmental Assessment (EA). The public review and comment period will end on Jan. 2, 2026.
The EA analyzes potential environmental impacts associated with the proposed transportation improvements pursuant to the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969.

The EA analyzes two alternatives, the Build Alternative and the No Build Alternative, and presents the potential impacts to various natural, cultural, and community resources located within the project area and the proposed mitigation to offset those impacts.
The Build Alternative, which meets the project needs while minimizing environmental impacts and addressing public and agency feedback, has been identified as the Preferred Alternative.

All comments received either written or via the website during the designated comment period and at the public hearing will be considered. The comments will become part of the public record associated with this action.
