State Trooper Mourned With Penndel Funeral Procession

PA State Trooper Bryan Gray of Morrisville died last week. Two fundraisers have been launched to support his family.

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA —A state trooper who died last week will be given a funeral procession Friday as the community rallies to help his family with the launching of two fundraisers.

A funeral procession for Pennsylvania State Trooper Bryan F. Gray of Morrisville will close the 200 block of Bellevue Avenue between Crescent Street and Woodland Avenue from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday due to a large viewing at Our Lady of Grace Church.

The Penndel Borough Police Department is asking people to avoid the area.

Gray, 36, passed away on Jan. 18. No cause of death was given.

Gray enlisted with the Pennsylvania State Police in 2018 and was assigned to the Troop K Philadelphia barracks Patrol section. He served as a state trooper for five years.

Gray was born and raised in Philadelphia he had been a resident of Morrisville. He graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a criminal justice degree, according to his obituary.

Before becoming a state trooper, Gray served in the U. S. Army Special Forces, Green Berets.

He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed going to the gym, playing basketball, exploring the city food scene, and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his mother Joan Gray. Gray is survived by his wife Emily Chau; his daughter Charlotte Gray; their dog Kit; his father Frank Gray; his sister Lauren McRae (Chris) and his nieces and nephews Brynn, Brooke, Colin, and Caden.

Ed Curtin of Morrisville organized a GoFundMe page for the family. The page has raised nearly $40,000 of its $50,000 goal so far.

"It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bryan Gray. Bryan will forever be remembered as a loving father, devoted husband, beloved son, adored brother, loyal friend, Penn State graduate, dedicated State Trooper, and US Special Forces Green Beret hero. Bryan tragically passed away on January 18th, 2024, at just 36 years old," the GoFundMe page said about Gray.

Another fundraiser by FundtheFirst.com —which raises funds for those who have served —has raised $70,000 of its $75,000 goal for Gray's family.

Family and friends will be received at Our Lady of Grace Church, 225 Bellevue Ave. from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday with his funeral mass to be celebrated at noon.

Gray will be interred on Monday at Washington Crossing National Cemetery 830 Highland Rd., Newtown, at 2:30 pm.
