Threats At 2 Levittown Schools Draw Police Presence
A middle school and a technical high school had additional officers present after the threats — one of which is now being called a hoax.
LEVITTOWN, PA — Threats made against two Levittown-area schools drew increased police presences on both campuses Tuesday morning.
At Carl Sandburg Middle School, in Levittown, officials say an "unsubstantiated threat by an anonymous source" led to increased security. Principal Dawn Kelly said in a letter to parents that the threat was posted on social media.
"At this time, the police have determined that this is not a credible threat but, as a precautionary measure, they will have a strong, increased presence in our school complex tomorrow," Kelly wrote in the letter, which was sent to families Monday evening.

She wrote that police and Neshaminy School District officials reacted to the threat with "an immediate and serious response," but called the threat a hoax.
"When we are able to determine the identity of the perpetrator, we will administer appropriate discipline and pursue legal action," Kelly said.

Meanwhile, at Bucks County Technical High School, in Fairless Hills, administrators said they, too, were responding to a threat.
"A threat was made towards the school last night and we are taking safety precautions by having police present and staff being vigilant," Leon Poeske, the school's administrative director, wrote in a message to the school community.
