Three Years of Giving from Det. Christopher Jones Foundation, Veteran ID Sign Ups

- The Detective Christopher Jones Foundation marked its third anniversary by announcing that $54,200 have been raised and donated to scholarships since the organization formed in 2010. The foundation was formed in honor of Middletown Township Detective Christopher Jones who lost his life in the line of duty in January of 2009. It has rapidly grown to become one of the largest local foundations offering criminal justice scholarships, community service awards and emergency relief to students and residents in Lower Bucks County. - Bucks County Recorder of Deeds staff will be on hand today at Team Toyota, located at 746 East Lincoln Highway in Langhorne, until 2 p.m. to issue veteran ID discount cards. A representative will also be available for any Bucks County businesses that wish to offer discounts through the program.
- The Pennsbury High School Marching Band hosts its 13th annual Marching Band Festival Saturday at 6 p.m. at the high school field. The Pennsbury band and the Temple University band will take turns performing showcases while area high schools, including Neshaminy and William Tennent, compete for first place. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students and seniors.
- A stockpile of wood outside the Bucks County Technical High School caught fire late Wednesday night, according to the Bucks County Courier Times. Classes resumed on schedule on Friday, the school's website said.
- The weather is going to stay rainy and windy for most of the day, according to the National Weather Service. It will start to clear up Saturday afternoon, with Sunday mostly sunny with a high near 51.
