'Turfers' Damage Fields At Langhorne Soccer Club

Members of the Hulmeville Soccer Club say fields are damaged so badly that they are unsafe for children to play on.

LANGHORNE, PA — Members of the Hulmeville Soccer Club are asking for help identifying the people they say "turfed" their playing fields on Sunday, damaging them so badly they can't be used.

The incident happened at about 5 p.m. on Sunday at the club, near Hoover Elementary School on Trenton Road in Langhorne.

Club director Scott Glass said a truck and a motorbike are believed to have been either involved or present at the time that the fields were torn up. Police are investigating, Glass said, and Neshaminy School District shared images of a truck and motorcycle captured by security cameras.

"The Hulmeville Soccer Club is a nonprofit, member-supported club that has invested a lot of money into these fields over the past two years to make them safe for our community’s kids to play," Glass said. "The damaged fields are now unplayable thanks to the people in this picture."

Hoover Elementary students also use the fields for field day activities.
