3 Locked Vehicles Stolen Overnight In Royersford

Authorities are asking local residents to check their video surveillance footage for clues.

ROYERSFORD, PA — Three vehicles were stolen from the streets of Royersford on Wednesday night into Thursday morning, police said.

All three vehicles were Hondas that were locked.

The incidents occurred in the area of Roboda Boulevard and Vaughn Road.

Police said that Hondas, like many cars with keyless entry, are vulnerable to theft due to "key fob signal interception," in which thieves use devices to capture and relay the signal to unlock and start the car.

"To protect your Honda, consider using a Faraday bag or pouch to block the transmission of electromagnetic signals from your key fob," authorities said in a statement.
