The incident began at about 9:06 p.m. at the Target on Ridge Pike, following a 911 call made to report a theft. Details of the theft and the items stolen were not made clear by police Wednesday.

Law enforcement arrived at the Target and attempted to stop the vehicle containing the suspects, but it fled, officials said.

It's not known how fast the vehicle was going when it left the Target, and details about how closely they were followed by police down Ridge Pike also remain unclear.

The vehicle lost control minutes later on the 300 block of Ridge Pike, smashing into the retaining wall of a local business, Apothecary Hair Lounge.

Montgomery County Detectives are continuing to investigate.
