LIMERICK, PA β€”Blair Watts told police he would never harm Jennifer Brown during two interviews after Brown was reported missing on Jan. 4, according to testimony in his trial in Montgomery County Court.

Watts, 33, of Limerick, is on trial before Judge William R. Carpenter on first-degree murder and related charges in the killing of Jennifer Brown, a Limerick mother of two.

Montgomery County Det. John Wittenberger testified that Watts implicated Brown’s neighbor, who he believed was jealous of Watts’ relationship with Brown, according to a report in the Philadelphia Inquirer.

β€œShe was depressed all the time; something wasn’t good there,” Watts said in a Jan. 7 interview with police. "I can't explain what happened."

Watts said he offered to take Brown’s son, Noah, to sleep at his house. However, prosecutors said, Noah did not have a change of clothes or the mediation he typically does during the Jan. 3 sleepover.

The prosecution is expected to complete testimony on Tuesday.

His lawyer, Michael Coard, will then present his case. Watts is not expected to take the witness stand in his defense.e
