Supervisor Elaine DeWan said she is pleased that the department will also tell the foundation that the playground and surrounding park are used by many different communities. Hegedus credited Parks and Recreation Committee chair Patti Kaufman with including that information.

"They had a list of zip codes in the grant application packet," Kaufman said. "They want to serve Pottstown, Limerick, Gilbertsville [and] Sanatoga."

The brief meeting covered a few other business items.

Carl Royer spoke about the township's yearly Community Development Block Grant funding. Royer said that the township has been told that the grant would be cut by 16-percent, placing it in the $200,000 range.

Block grant funding can be applied for by township residents. The funds can be used for homeowner's needs such as roof repairs, weatherization, or making a home accessible to a disabled person.

The board approved a development plan for the Buckman property at 105 Airport Rd. Buckman's is adding additional parking at that office location.

The board also approved the yearly winter services agreement with PennDOT for snow and ice removal.
