Johnny G's Seeks To Close Revolving Door
New Limerick eatery opens where Mama Velia's, others have closed since May 2011
The Mercury Business section profiles a brand-new Limerick barbecue spot today.
Johnny G's Smokin Pig Shack, located on Ridge Pike directly across from the Target and the Court at Upper Providence shopping center, opened just a few weeks ago.
Owners John and Shelley Gibo and John Lightcap IV started as caterers in Reading, but, according to the Mercury article, decided to take a chance on opening a restaurant. They plan to continue catering.

The restaurant is opening in a location that has seen more than its share of turnover in recent years.
The business has changed names and/or owners several times. After Mama Velia's closed in May 2011, it was Doc's Bistro and then Francesco's, an Italian restaurant.
