Nonprofits To Get Behind In The Limerick-Royersford-Spring-City Area

There are many opportunities to volunteer in the community or donate food, clothing and other items.

SPRING-FORD, PA β€” Nonprofit groups are keystone community organizations in the Spring-Ford area. Fortunately, there is no shortage of organizations to volunteer or get behind financially, and that need your help.

Here are five outstanding nonprofit groups you should know about in the Limerick-Royersford-Spring City area:

  1. You Are Worth It Foundation: An outreach program based at the Regeneration Church, 45 N. Church St., Spring City. The non-profit has a food bank that is run every other Tuesday from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the church. The agency focuses on treating people with compassion, empathy, and respect.
  2. Hope Springs Equestrian Therapy: 1072 St. Matthews Road, Chester Springs, Pa. 610-827-0931. The nonprofit was founded in 1997 to provide therapeutic horseback riding to make life a little easier for those facing challenges. The riders learn they are non as limited by their disabilities as they once thought. The nonprofit provides one-on-one lessons for children and adults with disabilities.   3. Spring-Valley YMCA: 19 W. Linfield Trappe Road, Limerick, Pa 19468, 484–2000. The Y has babysitting, personal training, several pools, special needs programs, pickleball, swim team, outdoor track, and more.
  4. Julia’s Grace Foundation: Julia Grace Eveland passed away from cancer in September 2013. In celebration of her life, Julia’s Foundation was established to keep her spirit alive. The foundation supports families affected by childhood cancer. A basket bingo event is scheduled at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 at the Royersford Firehouse Hall, 269 Green St., Royersford.   5. Limerick Fire Department: 390 W. Ridge Pike, Limerick 610-489-2222. Limerick Fire Department is looking for volunteers. Firefighting is great on resumes for college and jobs and d gives every member a sense of satisfaction. The fire company is also looking for volunteers for administrative work.
