Obituary: John W. Hughes, 72

John W. Hughes, age 72, husband of Ruth C. (Dunning) Hughes, of Spring City, PA died Monday morning, July 9, 2012 in his home.  

Born in Phoenixville, he was a son of the late James P. and Alice O. (Zazilla) Hughes.  

Mr. Hughes attended the Spring-Ford High School.  He worked for 20 years at the Alan Wood Foundry in Conshohocken, PA.  Mr. Hughes then worked for over 25 years at the Boyertown Foundry, retiring in 2002.  He was a life member of the Friendship Fire Company, Royersford, PA.  He formerly assisted the fire department as a fire policeman.  Mr. Hughes was also a former captain of the Spring-Ford School Police. 

In addition to his wife of 51 years, Mr. Hughes is survived by three children: Tina M. Hughes, of Limerick, PA; John C., husband of Lisa J. (Ward) Hughes, of Douglassville, PA; Victoria L., wife of Paul J. Reckner, of Harleysville, PA; four siblings: James, husband of Virginia Hughes, of Lansdale, PA; Alice Ann, wife of Alvin Herring, of Collegeville, PA; Robert, husband of the late Kathleen Hughes, of Phoenixville, PA; Barbara, wife of Robert Simpson, of Collegeville, PA; five grandsons and many nieces and nephews.  Mr. Hughes was pre-deceased by one sister: Margaret Hughes. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA 19468 on Friday morning, July 13, 2012 at 11:00 AM.  Burial will be in the Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick, PA.  Friends will be received from 10:00 - 11:00 AM Friday morning at the funeral home.
