Obituary: John William Diest, 47

Of Spring City; real estate agent; July 7

John William Deist, 47, of Spring City, PA, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at home.

Born in West Chester, PA, he was the beloved son of Shirley Ammon Deist of Exton, PA, and the late Robert P. Deist, Sr.

John was a graduate of Great Valley High School, Class of 1982. He attended Penn State University, where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History.

He worked most of his career in visual merchandising with various retailers. He recently obtained his real estate license and worked for Caldwell Banker.

John loved the family cabin in the mountains of Potter County as well as anywhere the ocean could be found. His interests included art and architecture, gardening and travel.

Surviving in addition to his mother are:

Life Partner of 12 years, Thomas Freece;

Step-Daughters, Autumn, Brittany, Briana;

Sister, Kathryn Deist;
Brother, Robert Deist Jr. and wife Linda; 
Brother, Dieter Muller.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service on 15 July, 2012 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 104 S. Village Ave. (Lionville), Exton, PA 19341 at 1:00pm.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his name may be made to Seasons Hospice, 700 South Henderson Road, Suite 225, King of Prussia, PA 19406.
