Boroff said the borough's contract requires the contractor to pay the borough $57,600 in damages as a result of the delay, and that the borough will use that money to pay the subcontractors. According to Boroff, minor electrical work is all that remains to be done on the Riverfront Trail, and that the borough will contract with someone else to complete that work.

Boroff also said that he is still discussing the construction of a Rite-Aid store on the east corner of Lewis Road and Main Street with the company. According to Boroff, Rite-Aid has stated that it will have the structures on the property demolished within 60 days of February 28. Several council members expressed displeasure at the delay because of concerns about the appearance of the boarded-up buildings on the lot. Boroff said that he cannot guarantee Rite-Aid will hold to the 60-day time period but he is working with them regularly to try and get the project going.
