The Royersford Borough Council held the first of its two May meetings on Tuesday evening. The brief session, which was over in less than twenty minutes, covered mostly routine municipal business. Items of note included:
- The Bad Habit Band will be performing on June 12 during the Summer Concert Series. Signs will be posted in the borough for each concert date and to inform residents if the concerts are moved elsewhere due to rain.
- Council voted to send a letter of support for the Open Door Mentor Program run by Open Door Ministries.
- Construction on the Rite Aid at Main Street and Lewis Road is proceeding. Demolition of the buildings on the property began this week.
- The Parks and Recreation committee reported that the Easter Egg Hunt was very successful, despite threatening weather and competition from other local egg hunts. There were approximately 180 attendees.
- There will be an organizational meeting for the yearly Halloween Parade on May 19th at 7pm at Borough Hall.
The council meets next on Tuesday, May 31 at 7:15pm.
