Shuler Elected Limerick Township Board Chair
Board reorganizes for 2012 at first meeting of year

The Board of Supervisors elected Kara Shuler chairman at Tuesday's first meeting of 2012.
Supervisor Joseph St. Pedro was elected vice chairman after being sworn in by Magisterial District Judge Walter F. Gadzicki Jr.
St. Pedro was to his first full term as a supervisor. He has been a supervisor since 2009, when he was appointed to fill a vacant seat on the board.

Judge Gadzicki also administered the oath of office to Carl Namiotka, who was elected auditor in November.
The board reappointed Joseph McGrory to the position of township solicitor, and retained Pennoni Associates and Traffic Planning and Design as the township's civil engineer and traffic engineer, respectively.

The reorganization included appointing or reappointing people to several township committees, including the parks and recreation committee, the planning commission and the zoning hearing board.
Several supervisors will represent the board on township committees this year.
Shuler will represent the board on the Emergency Services Committee and the Planning Commission.
St. Pedro will serve on the Industrial Development Authority board and the Limerick/Lower Pottsgrove Master Plan Committee.
Supervisor Ken Sperring will sit on the Agricultural Security Committee and join St. Pedro on the Limerick/Lower Pottsgrove Master Plan Committee.
Elaine DeWan will serve as an alternate on the Master Plan Committee.
Former board chairman Thomas Neafcy will serve on the Parks and Recreation committee, the Limerick Township Municipal Authority, the Open Space committee and the Streetscapes and Buffering committee.
Neafcy told Patch he is looking forward to working on the open space and streetscape committees.
"This is what I really want to do," he said.
