Six Eastern Pa. Towns Named Safest in America - Is Yours On The List?
Annual report uses crime data to analyze lowest danger rates across the country.
Claiming you live in one of the safest towns in America is a pretty bold statement, but one that results in high property values and less stress.
Safewise.com recently announced its top 100 safest cities in the country with populations over 10,000 residents, and towns located in Eastern Pennsylvania are well-represented, with one Delaware County municipality grabbing the number two spot. Five more are located in the Eastern Pennsylvania region.
Coming in at number two is Upper Providence Township, with a population of 10,310 residents, a violent crime rate of 0.19 per 1,000 residents, and a property crime rate of 2.24 per 1,000.

A good number of towns near Pittsburgh and Allentown also fill out the list, with a few appearing before Montgomery County’s Lower Salford Township at 24. Safewise said the population there is 15,319, with a violent crime rate of 0.33 per 1,000, and a property crime rate of 4.11 per 1,000.
Twelve spots later comes Buckingham Township in Bucks County, near Doylestown, at number 36, with a population of 20,396, violent crime rate of 0.09 per 1,000, and property crime rate of 4.75 per 1,000.

Not far behind is Upper Uwchlan Township in Chester County at number 42, with 11,494 residents, a violent crime rate of 0.09 per 1,000, and a property crime rate of 4.96 per 1,000.
Montgomery County is represented again at number 69 with Upper Gwynedd Township, located near Lansdale. With a population of 15,848, its violent crime rate is 0.25 per 1,000 and property crime rate is 5.17 per 1,000.
Finishing up the local accolades was Willistown in Chester County, squeaking in at number 99, with a population of 10,600 residents, a violent crime rate of 0.47 per 1,000, and a property crime rate of 6.13 per 1,000.
Information for Safewise.com’s rankings was collected from recent FBI crime statistics and “paired the data with our own research,” the website said.
