Small Buildings At Publicker Distillery In Limerick Set For Demolition
A developer plans to demolish the small buildings on the 107-acre site within the next few weeks.

LIMERICK, PA — Developers plan to demolish the small buildings on the former Publicker distillery within the next few weeks, township manager Dan Derr said Tuesday night.
Derr said he recently met with the developer, Jim Hendricks, to discuss the status of the former abandoned Publicker distillery at the Linfield Industrial Park along the Schuylkill River.
He said the developer will not demolish the large buildings for several months.

Derr said the developer would keep the residents of the timetable for clearing the site.
Limerick Town Center LLC, the property owner, expressed an interest in building warehouses at the site, but the township has not received formal plans

The 192-acre property contains massive concrete buildings and many smaller buildings that were once a whiskey distillery.
Police are patrolling the area to prevent trespassers from hanging out in the dilapidated buildings, Kerr said.
