SNAP Hosts Post-Prom Party

Spring-Ford High School becomes New York City for the night

After three months of work and fundraising - and about 100 feet of murals painted - the SNAP () organization debuted this year's party during a walkthrough on Saturday evening.

The post-prom party didn't begin until 11:00 p.m., but parents and other volunteers had been at the high school since 6:00 a.m. Saturday putting final touches on everything.

Activities included casino tables, carnival games, inflatables in the gym, karaoke, and the very-popular prize drawings. Prizes this year included two iPads, a laptop, a selection of gift cards, and the two biggest prizes, $500 for a junior and $1,000 for a senior.

Posner said the New York theme was teacher Jean Lare's idea.

"It was [Lare's] vision the whole time," she said.

Decorations were done either at worknights at , where Lare is a second-grade teacher, or at home by volunteers.

"Some people have never come to a worknight but they're doing 30-foot murals at home," Lare said.
