Spring-Ford Area School District Is Rated #6 In PA For Athletes

SPRING-FORD, PAβ€”Spring-Ford Area School District ranked number 19 out of 495 school districts in Pennsylvania, according to the 2023 rankings provided recently by Niche, an educational platform, headquartered in Pittsburgh.

The district received an overall grade of A+. The district covers Limerick and Upper Providence Townships, and the boroughs of Royersford and Spring City.

The student/teacher ratio is 14 to 1.

The district has five elementary schools, an Elementary Hybrid Learning School, a Fifth and Sixth Center., a Seventh Grade Center; Eighth Grade Center, and High School.

The district has an estimated 7,851 students.

According to the state test scores, 78 percent of the students are at least proficient in reading and 58 percent in math. The district offers AP classes and gifted programs.
Niche said in a report that the rankings were created to provide families with valuable information β€” both quantitative and qualitative β€” on schools in their area or in a neighborhood they’re not familiar with yet.

Overall, the district earned an A+ in academics and college prep. The district received an A in teachers and an A in administration.
Spring-Ford earned an A+ in clubs and activities, a B in diversity and food and a B+ in resources and facilities.

Niche said its rankings differ from others that rely mostly on test scores and academic performance.

The study also includes input from students, alumni, and parents, as well as quantitative data from sources such as the U.S. Department of Education to evaluate teachers, resources, and facilities.
