
POTTSTOWN, PA β More than 115 visitors attended the βMeet the Artistsβ reception and awards ceremony for the Third Annual TriCounty High School art show on Feb. 17 at Montgomery County Community Collegeβs Fine Arts Gallery, North Hall, 16 High Street, Pottstown.
During the awards presentation, 19 students received certificates in recognition of their artwork, along with gifts of sketch pads and pencils.
MCCCβs art faculty served as judges of the show, which included 160 entries from area high schools.

The following students received Awards of Excellence:
- Methacton High School: Isabel Cabrena, βNature,β acrylic; Emily Cortellessa, βDionysus,β chalk pastel; and Sarah Koshy, βChirophobia,β charcoal.
- Owen J. Roberts High School: Zachary Foreman, βBroken,β charcoal; and Nicole MacMullin, βKacey,β charcoal.
- Perkiomen Valley High School: Isabel Guzman, βLong Term,β oil/water soluble; and Samuel Yu, βKawaii,β ball point pen.
- Plymouth Whitemarsh High School: Jackie Lorenzon, βCubist Face,β digital photo; and Gianna Perrone, βFrosty Falls,β digital photo.
- Spring-Ford High School: Abigail Grinstead, βGadgets/Utensils,β charcoal; and Sabrina Pistona, βGadget/Bicycle,β colored pencil on charcoal paper.
- The Hill School: Toby Johnson, βChief,β digital art; Aron Gyoo Lee, βPanda Heaven,β pastel; Marina Mendez, βLeopard,β digital arts; and Cathy Wang, βGrandma,β photography.
- Upper Merion Area High School: MJ Aggabao, β7-Up,β colored pencil; Nicole Dunleavy, βSprinkles,β photography; Yaseen Elarbi, βDroplets,β photography; and Abby Volpe, βDistaste,β charcoal.
The exhibition opened Feb. 17 and will continue through March 4.

Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The next exhibit, the 11th Annual Art Studentsβ Exhibition and Competition, opens on April 6 and runs through April 29 and features the artwork of MCCC students. The community is invited to the opening reception and award ceremony on Wednesday, April 13 from 5 to 7 p.m.
