Spring-Ford Principal Appointed to National Board

Melissa D. Patschke, principal of Upper Providence Elementary School, was appointed to the National Association of Elementary School Principals Board.

Upper Providence Elementary School Principal Melissa D. Patschke has been appointed to the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP), according to the Spring-Ford Area School District (SFASD).

Patschke, who began her term in July, represents principals in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.

“We’re extremely proud to have one of our principals sitting on a national board,” said SFASD Superintendent David Goodin.  “I believe that she will passionately represent the interests of not only the district’s students, but also those of all the students in the region.”

Patschke has serves the NAESP in several positions, including national principal mentor certification coach and the federal relations coordinator for Pennsylvania.

Patschke began her career as a special education teacher in the Reading School District in 1988, and she served as the principal of Upper Providence Elementary since 2002.
