Tree Falls On School Bus In Upper Providence, Children Injured

Egypt Road was shut down for nearly an hour but has now reopened.

UPPER PROVIDENCE, PA β€” A tree came down on a school bus carrying Spring-Ford Area School District children early Friday morning, police said.

The incident occurred at around 7:08 a.m. on Egypt Road between Longford Road and Hollow Road in Upper Providence.

Police said that "a few" students sustained minor injuries during the incident, but that none of the injuries were major.

Egypt Road was shut down but was reopened less than an hour later, before 8 a.m.

The students involved contacted their family members, police said. Concerned family members should contact Spring Ford High School at (610) 705-6001 for more information.

The downed tree comes the day after significant wind gusts swept through the region.
