Upper Providence Twp. Officer Dies In Township Parking Lot
The police station was shut down Tuesday to give officers time to mourn.

UPPER PROVIDENCE, PA — An Upper Providence Township police officer took his own life in the parking lot of the township campus on Monday night, officials said.
The investigation shut down the campus for hours.
"There was no danger to the public at any time," Upper Providence police shared in a statement. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the officer and his family. We thank the public for their grace as we navigate this tragedy."

The Upper Providence police station was shut down Tuesday to allow officers time to mourn, and officials said that local municipalities would assist in patrolling the area for the coming days.
The officer was not identified. No additional information on the situation was immediately available.
