Burglar Gets Away with Jewelry as Resident Arrives Home

The following was reported by the Lower Moreland Police Department

On July 23, a resident on the 2200 block of Packard Ave. arrived home and heard a loud thump coming from the rear of her house around 2 p.m. She stood at the garage entrance, and through the garage window saw an unknown male running out of the rear door of her house with her jewelry box.

The homeowner described the male as approximately 25-30 years-old, short dark hair, clean shaven, dark eyes, 5’8-5’10, medium build, wearing a black t-shirt and light colored shorts. The male ran towards the front of the home and ran past the owner who said, “hey what are you doing?”

The male ran towards a grey Saturn sedan, placed the jewelry box in the back seat and drove away. The resident said there were significant pieces of jewelry taken including: 14 kt yellow gold, knot earrings from Tiffany; 14 kt yellow gold, earrings with posts from Tiffany; yellow gold stiff bangle bracelet; sterling silver, buckle bracelet with gold accent and diamonds from Lagos; silver and gold earrings from Lagos, Black Onyx earrings that belonged that her grandmother.

When the suspect was exiting the home, the rear door had its dead bolt lock broken and was in pieces inside and outside the doorway. The door and the doorframe was also damaged.
