PennDOT Is Replacing A Culvert Over The Pennypack Creek In Lower Moreland Township
Construction began this week in Lower Moreland Township to replace a culvert carrying Washington Lane over the Pennypack Creek.
LOWER MORELAND, PA β Pennsylvania Department of Transportation officials announced that construction was set to begin on Monday to replace an aging culvert in Lower Moreland Township.
The project to replace the culvert carrying Washington Lane over a branch of the Pennypack Creek is expected to go through the summer, with an anticipated end date sometime in July, according to PennDOT.
During construction, Washington Lane will be closed and detoured around the clock between Route 63 (Welsh Road) and Terwood Road throughout the completion of the project.

Local access to those who live in the affected area will be maintained up to the construction zone, PennDOT stated.
The state agency stated that the Washington Lane culvert is one of seven structures in Montgomery, Bucks and Chester Counties that are being repaired or replaced under a $6.5 million project that is being funded entirely with state dollars.

The general contractor on the project is Loftus Construction, Inc. of Cinnaminson, N.J.
