Drunk Man Tried To 'Break Fingers' Of Assisting Medic In Lower Moreland: Cops

First responders had tried to help the man after finding him stumbling down the middle of the road.

LOWER MORELAND, PA — An intoxicated man viciously attacked the medic that was trying to help him recently in Montgomery County, police said.

The incident occurred on Thursday, Oct. 24 on the 100 block of Tomlinson Road in the Huntingdon Valley section of Lower Moreland.

Oleksandr Zabrodin, 42, was found by first responders "stumbling and staggering" in the middle of the roadway, police said.

After a few moments it became clear that he was "under the influence of an unknown substance" and needed help, according to authorities.

Medics loaded Zabrodin into an ambulance and began providing medical assistance. However, when he came to, he broke free of his restraints and hit a medic with a closed fist, police said.

He also attempted to break the fingers of a medic as the altercation continued, according to officials.

Zabrodin was restrained and booked at Montgomery County Correctional Facility. He's been charged with aggravated assault, attempt to cause serious bodily injury, and related counts.

A preliminary hearing is forthcoming.
