'Extremely Large' Water Main Break In Lower Moreland Keeps Road Closed

LOWER MORELAND, PA — The water main break remains an issue in Lower Moreland Township on Thursday, shutting down a road and causing backups and delays in the nearby area.

Philmont Avenue will remain shut down throughout the day Thursday as crews attempt to handle the "extremely large" break.

Aqua crews are on the scene working to repair the situation, but work will not be complete until Friday at the earliest.

"This is causing traffic congestion and volume issues in the area," Lower Moreland police said. "We thank everyone for their patience as this is developing. LMPD is monitoring the situation."

The closure is in place between Huntingdon Pike and Red Lion Road.

Police are asking drivers to avoid the area if possible.
