A Glenside Man Charged In Connection With The Death Of Woman Walking Dog Heads To Trial
Michael Petrocik, 63, is charged in connection with the death of 61-year-old Mary Duffy, who was struck and killed while walking her dog.

LOWER MORELAND, PA β A Montgomery County man who is facing numerous criminal counts in connection with the death of a Lower Moreland woman who was struck and killed while she was walking her dog late last year must answer to the charges in Common Pleas Court.
Michael Petrocik, 63, of Glenside, was held for trial on all counts after he waived his preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Court Judge Jay S. Friedenberg last week, according to court records.
Mary T. Duffy, 61, was killed back in December, and her family has since said they plan to file civil litigation in addition to the criminal case that is playing out against Petrocik.

Court records show that Petrocik remains free after previously posting $20,000 cash bail.
Petrocik has been charged with felony counts of homicide by vehicle and homicide by vehicle while DUI, as well as three separate misdemeanor DUI counts and additional summary citations.

Duffy's dog survived the accident, which occurred along the 3000 block of Philmont Avenue in the Huntingdon Valley section of Lower Moreland Township on Dec. 29, 2021, a little after 12 noon.
Petrocik stands accused of operating his vehicle while under the influence of multiple substances at the time his car left the roadway and struck Duffy, who was walking her dog along a nearby sidewalk.
Duffy was transported to a nearby hospital for an emergency surgery, but she ultimately succumbed to her injuries.
Court records show that Petrocik has been scheduled for a formal arraignment on June 1.
