Township Approves Sidewalks at Huntingdon Valley Library
The construction is expected to be completed by the Fall.
The Board of Commissioners recently announced that new sidewalks will be installed along Red Lion Road in front of the Huntingdon Valley Library.
The cost of the project will come from the Capital Improvement Fund and will not exceed $30,000, according to the township. The Lower Moreland Public Works Department is expected to complete construction by the Fall.
Officials were looking into two options regarding the sidewalk, and they decided on keeping the stone wall and oak tree to preserve the old look of the community. The other option was to remove the wall and tree and have the sidewalk run up to the library.

“Right now there is no sidewalk for kids to walk from Murray Avenue to the library. Personally I like keeping the tree and the look,” chairman of the internal affair committee Robert Demartinis said.
Concrete will be put in down Red Lion Road to the driveway of the HV Library, and a meandering sidewalk will connect to the lower level of the library.
