Wright-Riggins has held the mayoral post since he was first elected in 2017. A pastor who holds a Ph.D in ministry, he has been active in the local community for decades, including volunteer work with the Rotary Club of Collegeville, the Collegeville Economic Development Corporation, and his local church.

Flicker, a native of Boyertown, has been a Collegeville resident for 15 years, has had a long career as an educator.

While Wright-Riggins is seeking his third consecutive term in a borough that has voted largely blue in recent years, Republicans are coming off a strong showing by President Trump in the wider Philadelphia suburbs during the 2024 presidential election. The GOP hopes to maintain that momentum into the 2025 municipal elections.

The results of local races, including the Collegeville mayoral contest, could provide an important bellwether for how swing state voters are perceiving the first year of the Trump administration.
