MONT CLARE, PA — A contractor working in the area reportedly inadvertently struck a gas line, causing fire officials from local companies to be called out to ensure there wasn't a danger to the community.
Trappe Fire Company No. 1 said that crews from its department were dispatched at around 11:37 a.m. Wednesday to the 100 block of Meadowview Lane to assist Upper Providence Township Fire & Emergency Services and the Black Rock Volunteer Fire Co. in response to a report of a contractor hitting a gas line.
Trappe reported that as the natural gas and odor made its way into the air, emergency personnel went door-to-door informing residents and business owners that the situation was under control and there was no threat to public safety.
