LOWER PROVIDENCE, PA — Students in the Methacton School District will be learning at home Friday due to the inclement weather and other issues, district officials have announced.

Friday was deemed a flexible instructional day, meaning students will be given instruction asynchronously through the use of the Google Classroom platform, district Superintendent David Zerbe announced.

Zerbe attributed his decision to the inclement weather and other "operational challenges," which was shared on the Methacton School District website.

Office hours for staff would be posted in their Google Classroom where teachers would be available via Zoom to answer any questions, Zerbe stated.

Zerbe said that attendance for the Flexible Instructional Day is counted by having students complete the posted assignments, and students would have three days by which to hand in assignments. The due dates would be Jan. 12 by the end of the school day.

In-person instruction was expected to be resumed on Jan. 10.
