Heavy Traffic On 422, Egypt Road Expected For President Trump Visit

What you need to know about traffic impacts and road closures ahead of President Trump's Montgomery County event on Monday:

OAKS, PA β€” Heavy traffic is expected on Route 422, Egypt Road, and the surrounding area on Monday afternoon and evening related to former President Donald Trump's event at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center at Oaks.

Upper Providence Township Police said that they will be assisting with both the safety of the event and the traffic flow, along with Upper Providence Fire and EMS crews.

Officials also expect heavy traffic on Station Avenue.

Doors open for the event at 2 p.m., so traffic is likely to pick up at around 1 p.m. It begins at 6 p.m. and police believe it will end at around 9 p.m., with congestion expected to be particularly heavy at those times.

No specific road closures have yet been announced, but are forthcoming. Police said the closures will be brief, and will likely last 15 to 20 minutes.

"The safety of attendees and our residents is always our top priority," police shared in a statement. "Please use patience, follow signs and any instructions from any traffic personnel working this event."

The event marks Trump's first appearance in the five-county Philadelphia suburban area this campaign cycle, though he was in Reading just last week.
