How Much Rain Fell In Montgomery Co. During Torrential Storm Monday

Rainfall totals varied up to an inch or more in neighboring communities, as intensity of the storm changed block by block.

NORRISTOWN, PA β€” Monday's storms dumped several inches of rain on much of the greater Montgomery County area, with severe thunderstorms concentrating the impact particularly hard in a few neighborhoods.

The storm caused roadway flooding and contributed to several accidents in the county, at least one of which was fatal in Norristown.

Rainfall varied depending on the exact location of the storm. In fact, neighboring communities saw disparities of an inch or more.

Here are the latest estimates for rainfall totals Monday in Montgomery County, according to the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail, and Snow Network:

  • Upper Merion: 2.84
  • Whitpain: 2.83
  • Audubon: 2.06
  • Cheltenham: 1.26
  • Horsham: 1.30
  • Fort Washington: 1.42
  • Worcester: 2.05
  • North Wales: 1.88
  • Upper Gwynedd: 2.65
  • Souderton: 1.29
  • Upper Dublin: 1.42

The storm continues Tuesday, as a flood watch remains in effect for much of the region.

Between 1 and 3 inches of additional rainfall is expected in parts of the state Tuesday, with showers and thunderstorms slated to develop in the afternoon and evening. Isolated damaging winds, hail, and flash flooding are all possible, the weather service said.
