Methacton Lifts Lockdown After Threat, 1 Student Arrested
No one was permitted to enter or leave the high school Monday morning as state police investigated.

LOWER PROVIDENCE, PA β Methacton High School was locked down Monday morning after a threat was made to students in the school, school officials said in a series of communications to the school community.
The responsible individuals were identified and one student was arrested by state police. The student has not yet been publicly identified, nor have any charges been announced.
The lockdown, which prevented anyone from going in and out of the school, began after 10:30 a.m. and was lifted before 1 p.m.

Details on the nature of the threat itself remain unclear, but messages from the district suggested it was made by phone.
"All students and staff are safe," the district said in the latest update. "The device with which the threatening call was made was confiscated, and the students involved were identified."

The school said the district and high school personnel were working with state police on the ongoing investigation.
The incident altered the school's lunch schedule. Mental health support is being made available to students as needed via the school crisis team, the district added.
