See How Methacton Compares To Top High Schools In PA: New Rankings

EAGLEVILLE, PA — Methacton High School has been ranked 76th in Pennsylvania in a new ranking from U.S. News and World Report.

The 2025-2026 Best High School Rankings, released Tuesday, evaluated nearly 24,000 public high schools from around the nation, and ranked some 18,000 of them.

The ranking situates Methacton well compared to the rest of the state, placing it high among the 741 that were evaluated.

However, Methacton trailed other nearby Montgomery County high schools and rivals in the ranking, including Wissahickon (21st), Plymouth-Whitemarsh (24th), Lower Moreland (27th), Spring-Ford (36th), and Perkiomen Valley (41st).

Schools were evaluated on how effectively they serve all students, including underserved populations, with college readiness specifically measured through student participation and performance on Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate exams.

The rankings consider curriculum breadth and overall student outcomes as well. U.S. News worked with RTI International, a global research firm, to implement the comprehensive ranking methodology, using the most current data from the 2022-2023 school year.

A total of 15 Montgomery County schools placed in the top 100 statewide, out of the 741 that were evaluated. Here's how they stacked up:
