Neshaminy Fires Basketball Coach After Head-Butt

The Neshaminy School Board on Tuesday voted to remove Jerry Devine as varsity basketball coach.

Neshaminy varsity basketball coach Jerry Devine has been dismissed after an apparent “head butt” that knocked a referee to the ground during a game earlier this month against Pennsbury.

The Neshaminy School Board on Tuesday voted to remove him as coach. “It was part of the personnel items, which were approved with no discussion,” said Neshaminy spokesman Chris Stanley.

His teaching status remains unchanged, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
