$425K Environmental Grants Awarded In Malvern & Beyond
State Rep. Krisine Howard said the funding will help restore wetlands and preserve nature.

HARRISBURG, PA – The state Department of Environmental Protection awarded more than $425,000 in grants for two projects in Chester County, State Rep. Kristine Howard, announced Tuesday.
“These grants will help ensure that the natural beauty of Chester County is preserved,” said Howard, a Chester County Democrat who represents Malvern borough, and Charlestown, East Whiteland, West Pikeland, West Whiteland, West Vincent and East Caln townships.
“These projects will allow anyone and everyone to enjoy the parks and natural areas we have to offer.”

These are the two projects:
- $324,800 to Malvern Borough for improvements to the Randolph Woods Nature Preserve, including renovation of an access drive, installation of a pavilion, fencing and gates, ADA access, landscaping, and other related site improvements.
- $100,344 to Green Valleys Association of Southeastern Pennsylvania for a proposed project will provide technical and financial assistance to equestrian operations in the French Creek Watershed in West Vincent and South Coventry townships.
These grants are administered by the Department of Environmental Protection's growing greener fund.

Growing Greener is the largest single investment of state funds in Pennsylvania’s history to address critical environmental concerns. Grantees have up to three years to implement their projects.
