Chester County Man Promotes Autism Awareness For State Police
Alex Mann visits the State Police Academy in Hershey, marking his 150th visit to a law enforcement agency to promote autism awareness.

MALVERN — Chester County resident Alex Mann marked his 150th visit to a law enforcement agency to share with the officers what it’s like living with autism.
This time he traveled to the Pennsylvania State Police Academy in Hershey and state police headquarters in Harrisburg.
Mann of Malvern said his life’s mission is to spend time with as many law enforcement officers as possible to promote autism awareness and share his personal perspective on how responders can better understand and interact with individuals who have an autism spectrum disorder.

Colonel Robert Evanchick presented Mann with a certificate of appreciation for his dedicated outreach and education.
“I want to personally thank Mr. Alex Mann for reaching out to the Pennsylvania State Police,” said Evanchick. “I applaud him for spreading his message of autism awareness to help law enforcement agencies throughout the state.”
Mann started his visit eating lunch in the academy cafeteria while speaking with a variety of personnel.

He then toured the academy grounds and spoke with cadets before departing to visit police headquarters in Harrisburg.
Mann said he started visiting police departments in my area in 2018 to show support and educate officers on autism awareness.
