Election 2023: Malvern Borough Voter Referendum Question
Voters in the borough will be asked if a .847-tract owned by the borough should be preserved.

MALVERN, PA — Malvern residents will be asked on the May 16 primary ballot if a 0.847-acre tract of land off Ruthland Avenue should be granted a conservation easement to preserve the land adjacent to the Malvern Fire Department.
The conservation easement would be granted to the Willistown Conservation Trust, Inc.
If adopted, the ordinance would designate the land for publicly accessible passive recreation and open space activities.

Passive recreation and open space activities are only those activities that can be carried out with little or no alteration or disruption to the natural features of the land.
The easement would limit the following activities or uses including the operation of pedal cycles or the construction of a bike path or “pump park."

It will also limit the use of motorized vehicles, construction, use of chemical and biological additives, disturbance of soil, signage, quarrying and excavation, groundwater removal, actions affecting streams and wetlands, dumping, and tree cutting.
A vote of YES approves the enactment of the proposed ordinance. A vote of NO disapproves the enactment of the proposed ordinance.
