Groping A Patient Results In Conviction Of Malvern Massage Therapist
Thomas Miles is awaiting sentencing after being convicted of indecent assault for touching a patient's breasts during two massage sessions.

WEST CHESTER, PA —A 61-year-old Malvern massage therapist was convicted in Chester County Justice Center of groping a female patient during two massages in 2017, officials said Monday.
Thomas Miles was convicted by a jury of two counts of indecent assault following a trial before Chester County Judge Alito Rovito.
The victim, a 43-year-old woman, told investigators Miles touched her breasts during massage therapy sessions.
Miles is free on bail awaiting sentencing. Indecent assault carries a penalty of two to seven years in prison.
East Whiteland police said that in 2018 the victim reported that the defendant told her the massage in which he touched her breasts was “a little more exotic.”
When she returned for another massage in July, the victim told investigators that the defendant removed the sheet and touched her breasts again.
Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan said Miles violated his duty of care as a chiropractor and massage therapist by engaging in these reprehensible acts.
“The victim had the courage to come forward to ensure that he never did this to others,” Ryan said in a statement after the verdict.
“It is not uncommon for victims of sexual assault to delay in reporting or to freeze during an assault. Her bravery is what brought the defendant to justice.”
