Big Al to Make Appearance at Country Squire Diner
Al Meltzer, of Newtown Square, will be signing copies of his book "50 Years of Adventures in Sports Broadcasting" at Country Squire Diner in Broomall from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 7.

BROOMALL–Al Meltzer, or also known as "Big Al" and one of the legendary Philadelphia sportscasters in the area, will stop by Saturday, Jan. 7, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. to sign copies of his recently released book 50 Years of Adventures in Sports Broadcasting.
Meltzer, a resident of Newtown Square, was the sports director at KYW-TV 3 and later on NBC 10 until 1998.
The diner, located at 2560 West Chester Pike in Broomall, was allegedly where it all began. According to the diner, Meltzer would ofen come into the diner with pen in hand writing notes for his book.
