Saint Anastasia School to Hold Walk for Juvenile Diabetes

l in Newtown Square will hold a walk to support research for Juvenile Diabetes. Students in grades K-8, staff, and families will raise money and awareness through a show of support for individuals who live with Type 1 or Juvenile Diabetes.

According to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, as many as 3 million Americans mayhave Type 1 diabetes. Type 1 Diabetes requires insulin dependence and lifelong management. It is often detected in childhood. Several members of the parish, including some Saint Anastasia students, struggle with diabetes daily.

The Saint Anastasia School students and staff will unite the community in support of diabetes research through a healthy walk launching November’s National Diabetes Awareness Month. Donations can be made out to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and sent to Saint Anastasia School c/o Mrs. Beth Doyle by October 21, 2011.
