High School Orientation, Book Sale Preview Tuesday in Marple Newtown

- Book Sale Preview: Newtown Library Book Sale from Aug. 20-24. Preview sale from 10 a.m. to noon on Aug. 20, $3 at the door.
- Government: Newtown Township Parks and Recreation meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 20
- Fun: Two for Tuesday DVD rentals at Marple Library. Rent two DVDS for the price of one. Two new releases at $2.12, two older releases for $1.06 or one of each for $1.53. Children's DVDs are always free.
- Back to School: Marple Newtown High School Freshman/New Student Orientation on Aug. 20
- Donate: Red Cross Blood Drives: Kaplan Career Institute, 1991 Sproul Road in Broomall from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Aug. 20. More information here.
- Traffic: Check on your commute on the PennDOT traffic cameras before you leave the house. But the traffic will likely be terrible—it's traffic.
- Weather: The forecast calls for temperatures to reach high-80s with sunny skies. Things are expected to cool down in the evening with clear skies.
- History: Per the History Channel, on this day in 1989, the Menendez brothers killed their parents.
