Highway To Be Dedicated To Fallen Delco Park Police Officer
Delaware County Park Police Officer Joseph Montgomery Jr. died on duty in September 2023. He also was chief of the Edgmont Fire Company.
GLEN MILLS, PA — A portion of a Delaware County highway will be dedicated to a longtime member of the county's first responder community Thursday.
State Reps. Lisa Borowski and Leanne Krueger are hosting a ceremony Thursday to dedicate a portion of Pennsylvania Route 352 in Edgmont and Middletown townships as the Chief Joseph J. Montgomery Jr. Memorial Highway.
Montgomery, who also served as chief of Edgmont Fire Co., died while on duty with the Delaware County Park Police on Sept. 29, 2023, at just 54 years old.

He also served with the Rocky Run Fire Co. and Main Line Health EMS, among many other roles during his lifelong career in public service.
The event is open to the public and will begin at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at 1350 Middletown Road in Glen Mills.

In addition to Borowski and Krueger, speakers will include Mike Johnson, assistant fire chief and EMS manager of Rocky Run Fire Co., and two of Montgomery’s children, Allison and Erin Montgomery.
Borowski and Krueger are co-sponsors of House Bill 459, which seeks to ensure that Montgomery’s lifelong dedication to service is remembered as a legacy by the community for years to come.
