Last Chance: Free Career Info Session Wednesday

A career information session will be held at Delaware County Community College on Wednesday, May 23, at 7 p.m. in the STEM Center at the school's Marple campus.

MEDIA– has announced a free career information session will be held on Wednesday, May 23, at 7 p.m. in the STEM Center at the college's Marple Campus, located at 901 S. Media Line
Rd., Media.

The session will cover a variety of careers in the Healthcare, Information Technology and Construction Trade fields, and college representatives will be on hand to answer questions and provide overview material.

This is an opportunity to become acquainted with the many non-credit career preparation courses that start soon and continue through the summer. This can help prepare you for a new career.

  • May 29th–Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS®) Prep: Prepping nursing students with reviews of all components of the TEAS® exam, including math, reading strategies, vocabulary, science, critical thinking skills and test-taking strategies.
  • June 4th–Dental Assistant: Familiarizing students with a dental office, treatment and patient management. Your skill development and training in radiology combines lectures at the Marple Campus with practicums at the Dental Training Center in Exton.
  • June 25th–Venipuncture (Phlebotomy Tech): Teaching students the basic venipuncture techniques for adults, children and infants as it prepares students to take the phlebotomy exam.
  • June 25th–Dialysis Technician: Helping students explore the operation of kidney-dialysis machines for renal-failure patients, under the supervision of a healthcare professional.
  • June 26th–Pharmacy Technician: Training students to enter the field as an ancillary working under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
  • August 20th–Electrocardiograph (EKG) Technician: Providing students with information on anatomy of the heart, physiology, disease processes and medical terminology, and includes practice with equipment and hands-on lab experience.


Details will also be available and questions will be answered concerning Information Technology courses that include Computer Forensics, Networking, Operating Systems, Web Design and many others, as well as Construction Trade
courses specializing in Electrical, HVAC, Welding and more.
